1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Abune Samuel School. By accessing or using our website, applications, services, or any educational programs (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.

Important: If you are enrolling a student, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of that student and have the authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.

  • "School" refers to Abune Samuel School, its administration, faculty, staff, and authorized representatives.
  • "Student" refers to any individual enrolled in or applying to Abune Samuel School.
  • "Parent/Guardian" refers to the legal parent or guardian of a student.
  • "User" refers to any person accessing our Services, including parents, students, staff, and visitors.
  • "Portal" refers to our online platforms, including the school management system, student information system, and any related applications.

3. Eligibility

To use our Services and enroll at Abune Samuel School, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Students must meet the age requirements for their desired grade level as specified in our admissions materials.

  • Parents/Guardians must have legal authority to enroll the student.

Student accounts are created and managed under the supervision of parents/guardians. Parents/Guardians are responsible for monitoring their child's use of our Services and ensuring compliance with these Terms.

4.4 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion, with or without notice.

5. Fees and Payments

5.1 Tuition and Fees

All tuition and fees are outlined in our Fee Structure, which is available on our website and at our admissions office. By enrolling a student, you agree to pay all applicable fees according to the payment schedule.

5.2 Payment Terms

  • Fees are due according to the payment schedule provided at enrollment.
  • Late payments may incur additional charges as specified in our fee policy.
  • Payments are non-refundable except as explicitly stated in our refund policy.
  • We accept payments through approved methods only.

5.3 Refund Policy

Refunds are processed according to our official refund policy, which considers:

  • Timing of withdrawal
  • Reason for withdrawal
  • Applicable government regulations
  • Special circumstances (medical, relocation, etc.)

5.4 Financial Obligations

Failure to meet financial obligations may result in:

  • Disenrollment from the school
  • Collection actions for outstanding debts

6. Code of Conduct

6.1 User Conduct

When using our Services, you agree not to:

  • Upload or share inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems

6.2 Academic Integrity

Students are expected to maintain academic integrity by:

  • Completing their own work

  • Reporting academic integrity violations

6.3 Consequences

Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in:

  • Verbal or written warnings
  • Suspension of account access
  • Academic penalties
  • Disciplinary action as per school policy

7. Intellectual Property Rights

7.1 School Content

All content provided through our Services, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, course materials, software, and educational resources, is the property of Abune Samuel School or its licensors and is protected by Ethiopian and international copyright laws.

7.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use our Services for their intended educational purposes. This license does not allow you to:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute school materials without permission
  • Sell or commercially exploit any content
  • Reverse engineer any software
  • Remove copyright notices

Upon termination:

  • Sections of these Terms that should naturally survive termination shall remain in effect

You may terminate your account by contacting our administration office. However, termination does not relieve you of any financial obligations incurred before termination.

  • NON-INFRINGEMENT

We do not warrant that:

  • The results from using the Services will be accurate or reliable
  • Any errors in the Services will be corrected

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ABUNE SAMUEL SCHOOL, ITS ADMINISTRATORS, TEACHERS, OR STAFF BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE
  • LOSS OF DATA OR CONTENT
  • PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE
  • INTERRUPTION OF BUSINESS
  • UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO YOUR TRANSMISSIONS

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to these Terms or our Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to us, if any, during the twelve months preceding such claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Abune Samuel School, its administrators, teachers, staff, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of and access to our Services
  • Your violation of any term of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party right
  • Any content you submit to the Services

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or our Services shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Gondar, Ethiopia, and you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use our Services after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you must stop using the Services.
